1. Pick the location you want to join. (Or move around! Members of all locations may train at any location/session we offer.)
2. Download the GET FIT registration form, fill it out and bring it to the kickoff event*.
3. Get to the kickoff event at least 15 minutes before the start time to register. Please allow 3 hours for the kickoff sessions.
If you want to join but can not make any of these dates or times please email email@example.com which location you would like to join.
Training Options: Full Marathon or Half Marathon (run or walk grouped by ability), Trail Running & / or Triathlon Training
*These kickoff events/information sessions allow you to talk to coaches and members and learn more about the program, as well as participate in a short run so you can be assigned to a group of runners at your pace, receive membership items, get started with all the other new members! *

9:45 - Introduction to Get Fit Atlanta Running Program by Dana Greene Welcome and History, Program Structure, Right Gear, Running Nutrition, Hydration, Get Fit Rules of the Road
Benefits: As a member of Get Fit, you’ll receive training schedules with suggested workouts each week for numerous target races. Typically, for the run & walk groups - these consist of 3-4 runs per week, with the option of strength and cross training on those or other days. For the triathlon group they typically consist of 3 runs per week, 3 bike rides per week and 3 swims per week - This workouts are provided within your own training peaks account so our coaches can monitor your training and progression. There is no requirement to complete all of these workouts with Get Fit –we have many members from across town who enjoy the benefits of our group & train on their own! Members receive a technical Get Fit Atlanta tee, Emergency ID Shoe tag, Safety Reflective Vest, training plans for many target races, social events, a fantastic lineup of educational and informative seminars, partner & sponsor discounts (we are still adding to the list of partners!) - discounted entry to many group races, exclusive access to our member only on-line discussion forums, and more.
The Cobb group has long runs on Saturdays near and on the Silver Comet trail during the summers. It is a perfect place to train in the summers for marathons/half marathons—shaded and generally pretty flat. For a change of scenery and training stimulus, in the winter, we move our runs around town—Buckhead, Midtown, Grant Park, Decatur, Kennesaw, even Alpharetta.

Training Locations: We have many “opportunities” each week to train with other members of Get Fit—Monday nite intervals in Smyrna, (when scheduled), Tuesday night in Buckhead, Thursday night Downtown and in Kennesaw, and our long runs on Saturday and Kennesaw on Sunday. Triathlon group Swims & clinics (with certified Swim instructors) are posted before season starts in various locations around town, Group Bike rides vary on Monday nights from spin classes on trainers to Kennesaw Mountain repeats - Thursday night Bricks on Silver Comet Trail off the East West Connector, & Long rides are in various locations on Sundays. Group open water swims and all clinics posted monthly! In addition to these “official” practices , you’ll find that people post to our members only forum seeking partners to train with at alternative times.
